Kivineo is a 3-in-1 electric shaver for men who want to handle shaving and touch-ups with a single device. Three heads fit onto the same rechargeable handle: a foil head for shaving, a clipper with a comb for trimming beards and short hair, and a narrow trimmer for nose and ears. It takes up little room in the bathroom or the suitcase, and each head does one specific job.
A rechargeable foil shaver for a close shave
The shaving head is straight: a very thin metal foil, full of tiny holes, covers blades that vibrate from side to side. The foil is what touches the skin and the blades cut the hair that slips through the holes. You run it in short, straight strokes over the cheeks, chin and neck, against the grain and with the skin held taut. Use it for a full shave or to clear the areas around your beard.
Clipper and shaver in one: trim before you shave
The second head is a straight-blade clipper with a guide comb. With the comb on you keep a short beard or stubble at one length; without it, you tidy the nape, sideburns and beard outline. If you have gone several days without shaving, trim with this head beforehand and then use the foil one, which works better on short hair.
Nose and ear trimmer, narrow and shielded
The third head is slim and elongated, with the blades shielded inside a slotted cover. It fits into the nostril or next to the ear and cuts the hair that shows without the blades being exposed. Use it gently and do not push it in deeply: you just need to reach what is visible.
A men's shaving kit that fits in your wash bag
The heads click on and off with no tools. The handle is cordless, charges with its USB cable and has an indicator that shows how much battery is left. Battery life, charging time and water resistance are listed in the specifications table.
How to shave with a foil shaver
Prepare your skin
Wash your face and dry it well. If your beard is long, trim it with the clipper beforehand.
Fit the foil head
Push it onto the handle until it clicks and switch the shaver on.
Use short, straight strokes
Rest the foil without pressing and work against the grain, holding the skin taut with your other hand.
Tidy the details
Switch to the clipper for sideburns and nape, or to the trimmer for nose and ears.
Clean when you finish
Switch it off, take the head off and brush the hair out before putting it away.
Cleaning and care
- Clean each head with the brush provided after using it; on the foil head, brush the blades and not the foil, which bends out of shape easily.
- If the manufacturer states that the heads are washable, rinse them and let them dry completely before refitting.
- Do not charge the handle while the body or the connector is damp.
- Store the heads with their protective caps, in a dry place and out of the reach of children.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a rotary and a foil shaver?
A foil shaver, like this one, has blades that move side to side under a straight foil and is used in straight strokes, which helps to leave straight edges on sideburns and neck. A rotary shaver has circular blades under round guards and is moved in circles. With both, the result depends a great deal on practice and on your type of beard.
How do I use the nose and ear trimmer?
Fit the head, switch it on and bring it to the hair that shows, turning it slowly. Insert it just at the entrance of the nostril, never deeply, and on the ears use it on the outside, around the outer ear, never inside the ear canal. Clean it after each use and do not share it with other people.
Can it be used wet or in the shower?
It depends on the water resistance rating, which you will find in the specifications table. A model with washable heads can be rinsed under the tap, but that does not mean it can be submerged or used in the shower. If in doubt, use it dry, on clean skin that has been dried well.
Can the clipper head cut the hair on my head?
It is useful for tidying the nape, sideburns and the outline around the ears, and for keeping hair very short if you wear it buzzed at one length. For a full haircut with several lengths, a hair clipper with more combs and a wider head is more practical.
How are the heads cleaned?
Switch the shaver off and remove the head. Brush out the hair with the brush provided; on the foil head, lift off the foil frame if it comes off and brush the blades, not the foil. If the manufacturer states that they are washable, rinse them with water and let them dry completely before refitting. Do not use solvents or put them in the dishwasher.
