Read the full description
Rezanis is a laser level with a tape measure, a ruler and spirit vials brought together in one compact body. It is made for small jobs around the home: hanging pictures, putting up shelves, fitting hooks or marking the holes for a curtain rail. Instead of fetching the tape, the level and the pencil separately, you have nearly everything in one hand.
A laser level for hanging pictures and lining up shelves
Rest the tool against the wall, centre the bubble and switch on the laser: it projects a straight line you can follow to hang several pictures at the same height or line up the brackets of a shelf. It is a help for indoor jobs at short range, not a self-levelling site laser, so the accuracy depends on levelling the bubble carefully before you mark.
A tape measure with a laser: measure and mark without switching tools
The tape measure pulls out of the body itself and winds back on its own, so you can measure the gap between two holes and mark it without putting the tool down. One edge carries a graduated ruler for drawing short lines with a pencil. The length of the tape and of the ruler are given in the specifications table.
A spirit level with a laser: horizontal, vertical and angled
The vials let you check whether a surface is horizontal, vertical or set at an angle, such as a shelf, a door frame or a handrail. They also work on their own, with the laser off, to check that a piece of furniture or a washing machine is sitting level.
How to use it
Fit the batteries
Open the compartment cover and insert the button cells the right way round.
Hold it and level it
Hold the tool against the wall and turn it gently until the bubble sits in the centre.
Switch on the laser and mark
Turn on the laser, check that the line runs where you want it and mark the points you need with a pencil.
Measure and switch off
Use the tape for the distances between marks and switch the laser off when you finish to save the batteries.
Care and maintenance
Wipe the laser window and the vials with a soft, dry cloth. Let the tape wind back slowly rather than letting go of it, so the spring is not damaged, and do not leave it pulled out. If you will not use the tool for a while, take the batteries out. Avoid knocks and drops: a hard knock can throw the laser line out of true.
Frequently asked questions
Is this laser level good for hanging pictures?
Yes, that is exactly what it is made for. Level the bubble against the wall, switch on the laser and the line shows you the height for one or several pictures. Use the tape to measure the spacing between them and mark the holes with a pencil before you drill.
Is it a self-levelling laser?
No. The line comes out straight in relation to the body of the tool, so you level it yourself using the bubble. For home jobs at short range that is enough; for building work, large tiling jobs or ceilings a self-levelling cross-line laser on a tripod is a better choice.
What batteries does the small laser level take?
It runs on button cells; the type and number are in the specifications table and they come included. When the line starts to look fainter, it is time to change them. Remember to switch the laser off when you finish and remove the batteries if you will not use it for a long time.
Can you see the laser line in daylight?
Indoors it shows up well on light-coloured walls at short range. In direct sunlight or outdoors the red line becomes harder to see, as with any small laser of this kind. If you struggle to see it, lower the blinds or work with the room light a little dimmer.
Is the laser dangerous for the eyes?
A laser of this kind should never be stared into or pointed at anyone's eyes. The laser class is shown in the specifications table and on the label of the tool. Keep it out of the reach of children and do not use it as a pointer or a toy.
Can I use the spirit vials without switching on the laser?
Yes. The vials work like an ordinary spirit level: rest the tool on a shelf, a piece of furniture or an appliance and check whether it is straight. That saves batteries on quick checks and keeps the laser for when you need to carry a height along the wall.
