Read the full description
Seriso is a set of reusable handwriting practice books for children who are starting to hold a pencil and trace letters and numbers. Each page has the strokes pressed into the paper as grooves, and the pen that comes with them writes with an ink that fades by itself after a while. So the same page can be traced again and again, at home, on holiday or on a rainy afternoon, with an adult nearby.
How magic handwriting books work
The letters, numbers and drawings are not just printed: they are sunk into the page, like a small channel. When the child rests the pen tip inside the groove and slides it along, the paper itself shows the way. It is a simple way to practise the path of each stroke by hand, without the page filling up with smudges.
A handwriting book with disappearing ink
The pen's ink shows clearly while writing and fades by itself after a few minutes, with no rubber and no water. Once the page is clean again, you can start over. The exact time depends on the model, the humidity and how much ink is used, and you will find it in the specifications table.
What is in each book
The set brings together four books on different themes. One is letters, with the alphabet to trace. Another is numbers. The third has basic strokes, such as lines, curves and zigzags, along with simple drawings to follow with the pen. The fourth offers simple adding and taking-away sums supported by pictures. The language and the letter style of each book are given in the specifications table.
Pen, refills and grip adapter
The pen is thick and light, and has a silicone adapter that fits where the fingers rest so that it is more comfortable to hold. When the ink runs out, you change the refill by unscrewing the tip. The set includes several refills, and the exact number is listed in the specifications table.
How to use handwriting books for kids
Get the pen ready
Insert a refill and, if the child prefers, fit the grip adapter.
Choose a page
Open the book on a table, in good light, and begin with the simplest strokes.
Follow the groove
Rest the tip inside the channel and slide it slowly, without pressing, in the direction the page shows.
Let the ink fade
Move on to another page in the meantime. When the earlier one is clean again, it can be traced once more.
Caring for the books and the pen
- Keep the books closed and flat, away from water and heat sources.
- Do not use other pens, pencils or markers on the pages: their ink does not fade.
- Put the cap back on the pen after use so the tip does not dry out.
- Keep spare refills in their bag, out of the reach of younger children.
Frequently asked questions
How do magic handwriting books work?
Each letter, number or drawing is pressed into the paper as a groove. The child rests the pen tip inside the groove and follows it, so the page itself shows the way. The ink fades by itself after a few minutes and the page is ready to be used again.
How long does the ink take to disappear?
A few minutes, although it varies with the humidity in the room, the temperature and how much ink is left on the stroke. On damp days it usually takes a little longer. The guide time for this model is in the specifications table. In the meantime, the child can carry on with another page.
Can another pen or a pencil be used?
It is not a good idea. Ink from a regular pen, a marker or the graphite of a pencil does not fade, and the page would stay marked for good. Use just the pen included, with its refills. When they run out, look for refills compatible with this kind of book.
From what age can these handwriting books for kids be used?
The recommended age is the one the manufacturer gives on the packaging and in the specifications table. As the set includes refills, a cap and an adapter, which are small parts, an adult should be nearby while the child uses it and should put everything away afterwards.
Are the books in Spanish?
The numbers, strokes and drawings work in any language. The letters book follows the alphabet and letter style given in the specifications table; check it before buying if you are looking for a particular style, for example the one your child's school uses.
How many times can the pages be reused?
Many, as long as the pen included is used and the pages are looked after: away from water, without folding them and without pressing so hard that the paper tears. With use, the grooves may flatten slightly. What runs out sooner is the ink, which is why the set includes refills.
