Tanoro is a pack of three stick-on LED lights with a remote: three round white puck lights, with a ring of white light, that run on batteries and stick wherever you need to see better and there is no socket. They need no drill and no wiring. They are for anyone who wants light inside the wardrobe, under the kitchen wall cabinets, on a shelf or in the storage room, and would rather sort it out in a moment, with no building work and no electrician.
Wireless LED lights for the wardrobe, kitchen and stairs
Each light is independent, so you can spread them out: one inside the wardrobe, one over the worktop and one in the pantry, or all three in a row under a long shelf. They also suit hallways, stairs, storage rooms and caravans, which are places where running a cable is costly or impossible.
They give a supporting light, meant for seeing what is in front of you, not for lighting a whole room. They work just as well as LED lights for shelves and display cabinets, where one point of light close by is enough to show what is on them.
Battery LED puck lights with a remote control or a touch
There are two ways to switch them on. The most direct is to press the light itself: one press turns it on and another turns it off. The other is the remote, which switches them on and off from a distance, raises or lowers the light level and has a timer button so that they go off by themselves after a while. It is handy when the lights are high up or at the back of a cabinet, and also at night, so you do not have to feel your way to the light.
A stick-on LED light with no drilling: a base that sticks and a light that twists
Each light sits on a base with an adhesive pad. You stick the base to a smooth, clean, dry surface and the light locks into it. When the batteries need changing, you twist the light, lift it off the base and reach the cover on the back; the base stays where it is. There are no holes to make and nothing to connect, which makes them convenient in a rented home or on furniture you do not want to drill.
How to install them
Fit the batteries
Twist each light to separate it from its base, open the back cover and insert the batteries the right way round.
Choose the spot and clean it
Find a smooth surface, remove dust and grease and wait until it is dry.
Stick the base
Peel the backing off the adhesive, press the base for a few moments and lock the light in by twisting it.
Try the light and the remote
Press the light to switch it on and use the remote to check on and off, the light level and the timer.
Care and maintenance
Clean them with a dry or barely damp cloth, with the light switched off. When the light grows weaker, change all the batteries in that light at once and do not mix new ones with used ones. If you are not going to use them for a while, take the batteries out so they do not leak inside. Take spent batteries to a collection point. To remove a base, pull it slowly and sideways.
Frequently asked questions
Are the stick-on LED lights with remote battery-powered or rechargeable?
They run on batteries. Each light takes replaceable batteries in the back, and to change them you just twist it and lift it off its base. They have no internal battery and no charging port. The type and number of batteries per light, and whether they come in the box, are in the specifications table; the remote has its own battery.
Do they have a motion sensor?
No. These lights do not come on by themselves as you walk past: you switch them on, by pressing the light itself or with the remote. In return, they never come on when you do not want them to, and they do not use up batteries because a cat or a door moved. If you want them to go off without having to remember, use the remote's timer button.
Do they work as battery LED lights for the kitchen, under wall cabinets?
Yes, it is one of the places where they are most useful: stuck under the wall cabinets, they shine straight onto the worktop. Keep them away from the hob, the oven and the steam around the extractor, because heat and grease harm both the adhesive and the batteries. Clean and degrease the surface well before sticking the base.
Does the adhesive leave a mark when you remove a stick-on LED light?
It depends on the surface. On melamine, tiles, glass or lacquered metal it normally comes away cleanly if you pull slowly and sideways, and any residue rubs off with a finger. On a decorated wall it may lift some of the finish, and it grips less well on rough surfaces. If in doubt, try it beforehand somewhere that is not on show.
Can the battery LED puck lights with remote all be operated at once?
The remote works with all three lights in the pack. Those within its range respond to the command; if you have spread the lights across different rooms, you will have to go up to each one or press it by hand. The range of the remote is given in the specifications table. Each light also keeps its own press switch.
Can they go in the bathroom or outdoors?
They are not meant for that. They are indoor lights for dry places, with no declared protection against water, so they do not go inside the shower, beside a basin where water splashes or out in the open. In a bathroom, at most inside a closed cabinet and away from steam. Damp also weakens the adhesive over time.
