Read the full description

Dadalo is a handheld shower head with a chrome-look silver finish and a small blue propeller that spins as the water flows and shows through a clear window in the head. The water comes out through a micro-hole plate in a fine, concentrated spray. The handle, which is also clear, holds a sediment filter cartridge and has a pause button. It is for anyone who wants to swap the head on their shower hose for one with a tighter spray and a couple of practical extras.

A shower head with a propeller you can watch spin

The propeller has no motor and no batteries: the flow of water itself turns it. It sits in the round head, behind a clear window, so you see it spin while you shower. It has a practical use too: at a glance you know whether the water is flowing normally or whether something is slowing it down.

Turbo shower head: a fine, concentrated spray

The water comes out through a plate with many very small holes, so the spray is divided into fine jets set close together. With the same supply in your home, those jets feel firmer on the body than the spray from a shower head with large holes.

It is worth being clear: the shower head does not increase the pressure coming through the pipes. What changes is how the water is spread as it comes out.

A shower head with a pause button on the handle

On the handle there is a button that, when pressed, cuts the flow to a trickle. It lets you soap up or wash your hair without touching the tap; press it again and the spray comes back. It is not a shut-off valve: while it is paused the hose is still under pressure, so when you finish your shower you have to turn the tap off as usual.

A sediment filter you can see in the handle

Inside the clear handle there is a white polypropylene fibre cartridge. The water passes through it before reaching the head, and grit and other particles carried along the pipes stay in it, so they do not reach the micro-holes. As the handle is clear, you can see when the cartridge has changed colour. It holds back sediment and particles, nothing more: it does not change the composition of the water.

How to use the turbo shower head

  1. Remove the old shower head

Turn off the water and unscrew the head on your hose by hand.

  2. Fit the washer and screw it on

Put the rubber washer into the thread and screw the shower head onto the hose by hand until it is firm, without forcing it.

  3. Turn on the water and check

Open the tap, check that the propeller spins and the joint does not drip, and set the temperature before you step under it.

  4. Pause to soap up

Press the button on the handle to cut the water to a trickle, and press it again to carry on.

  5. Turn the tap off when you finish

The pause button does not replace the tap: always turn the tap off at the end of your shower.

Care and maintenance

After showering, let it drain and dry the outside with a cloth so that no limescale marks are left on the silver finish or the clear parts. If the propeller spins more slowly or the spray loses strength, look at the cartridge in the handle: if it is loaded with sediment, take it out and rinse or replace it, as the instructions say. For scale in the micro-holes, rub the plate with a soft brush and diluted vinegar, then rinse well. Avoid abrasive products and solvents, which damage the finish and cloud the plastic.

Frequently asked questions

Does a turbo shower head give more pressure?

It does not increase the pressure coming through the pipes. What it does is divide the water into fine jets set close together through the micro-holes, and that tight spray feels firmer than a shower head with large holes on the same supply. If the pressure in your home is very low, the difference will be small.

What is the propeller in the shower head for?

The propeller spins as the water flows and you can watch it move through the clear window in the head. Besides the visual effect, it works as an indicator: if one day it spins more slowly or stops, that is a sign that the cartridge in the handle is loaded with sediment or that there is scale on the plate, and it is time to clean them.

How does the pause button on the shower head work?

When you press it, the flow drops to a trickle so you can soap up without touching the tap; press it again and the spray returns. It does not shut the water off completely or replace the tap: the hose stays under pressure during the pause, so always turn the mixer off when you finish. With an instantaneous gas heater, the flame may go out in the meantime.

What does the filter in the handle hold back, and when should it be changed?

It is a fibre cartridge that holds back grit, sediment and other particles carried by the water, so they do not reach the micro-holes. It does not soften the water or alter its composition. How often to change or rinse it depends on the water in your area: follow the instructions and go by how it looks, which you can see through the clear handle.

Is this handheld shower head compatible with my hose and bracket?

It uses the standard handheld shower thread, the one most shower hoses in homes have, and fits the usual wall brackets. Before buying, check that your current shower head unscrews from the hose. The hose is not included: you use the one you already have.

How do you clean the shower head and its filter?

On the outside, a damp cloth with mild soap is enough, then dry it. For scale on the plate, rub the micro-holes with a soft brush and diluted vinegar and rinse well. The cartridge in the handle comes out as shown in the instructions and is rinsed under the tap or replaced, depending on what the manufacturer says. Do not use abrasive products.
