What it does

A memory foam knee pillow with an hourglass shape and a hollow on each face where your legs rest when you sleep on your side. Those hollows help it stay in place with no straps or buckles, and the cover comes off for washing. It is also handy for resting your legs on the sofa.

Remireo is a knee pillow: a small memory foam cushion with an hourglass shape that goes between your legs when you sleep on your side. It is designed for people who sleep that way and would rather not have one knee resting directly on the other, or who tend to end up with an ordinary pillow rolled up between their legs in the middle of the night.

A pillow between your legs for side sleeping

When you sleep on your side, your knees and ankles tend to sit one on top of the other. With a cushion in between, your legs stay slightly apart and each knee rests on foam rather than on bone. It is a matter of comfort: many people find it more pleasant, and others prefer to sleep with nothing there. It is worth trying for a few nights.

You can place it at knee height or a little higher, between your thighs: it is a matter of trying where it feels most comfortable.

A memory foam knee cushion that moulds to you

Memory foam gives slowly under the warmth and weight of your legs and recovers its shape when you let go. That is why it neither bounces nor flattens completely. In a cold room it will feel firmer at the start and softer after a few minutes.

The foam is ventilated: it has small holes running right through it that let air pass. When new, it may have a faint new smell; let it air for a few hours before using it.

A leg pillow with an hourglass shape and no straps

Seen from the front, the pillow is narrower in the middle and wider at the ends, and each face has a curved hollow. One leg rests in the lower hollow and the other in the upper one, and that shape is what holds it between your legs. It has no strap, hook-and-loop tape or buckle: there is nothing to fasten and nothing that presses. On the sofa it is also useful for resting your legs or lower calves while you read or watch a film.

How to put a pillow between your knees

  1. Air it when unpacked

Take it out of the packaging and leave it for a few hours in a ventilated place so it recovers its shape.

  2. Place it between your knees

Lie on your side and position the pillow with the curved hollows facing your legs, at knee height or slightly above.

  3. Settle your legs into the hollows

Let your lower leg and your upper leg each rest in its own hollow, with the narrow part of the pillow in the middle.

  4. Find your spot

Try moving it up or down a little until you find the position that feels most comfortable. If it slips out when you turn over, just put it back.

Cleaning and care

  • Unzip the cover and wash it according to the instructions on the label.
  • Do not wash the foam; if it gets marked, wipe it with a barely damp cloth and let it dry in the air.
  • Store it in a dry place, with nothing heavy on top, away from radiators and direct sunlight.

Frequently asked questions

What is a pillow between your legs for when you sleep on your side?

It keeps your knees and ankles from resting directly on each other and holds your legs slightly apart. It is a matter of personal comfort: many people find it more pleasant, and others do not feel the need. It is not a medical device and does not replace a professional's advice.

Where exactly does the knee pillow go?

Between your knees, with the curved hollows facing your legs. Some people prefer it slightly higher, between the thighs, and others lower, towards the calves. Try a few heights over several nights and keep the one that feels most comfortable.

Does it stay in place when you turn over?

Not always. It has no strap: what holds it is its shape, with a hollow on each face where your legs fit. While you sleep on your side it stays put fairly well, but when you change sides or stretch your legs it can slip out. You simply put it back between your knees; there is nothing to adjust or fasten.

Can it be used as a leg pillow on the sofa?

Yes. As well as in bed, you can put it under your calves or ankles when you are lying on the sofa reading or watching television. Thanks to its size, it also fits in a suitcase if you want to take it travelling. Take the cover off now and then and wash it following the label.

Can I use it if I am pregnant?

It is a comfort cushion, so there is nothing special about using it, but it is not a pregnancy pillow: it does not hold your bump or your back. During pregnancy, if you have questions about sleeping more comfortably, ask your midwife or another healthcare professional.

How is it washed?

Open the zip, take out the foam and wash the cover following the label. The memory foam should not get wet or go in the washing machine, because it loses its shape and takes a long time to dry. If it gets marked, wipe it with a barely damp cloth and let it air-dry before putting the cover back on.
