Read the full description
Revela is a set of nylon brushes with a drill shank. You fit one into the chuck of your drill or drill driver and the tool's rotation does the scrubbing. It is made for dirt that is hard to shift by hand and for large surfaces: blackened grout, shower trays, bathtubs, terrace tiles, barbecues or car wheel rims. The drill is not included.
A cleaning brush for your drill: the rotation does the hard work
Scrubbing a shower tray or a terrace floor by hand tires your arm quickly. With the brush fitted to the drill, you just guide it and rest it on the surface; the steady rotation does the repetitive work.
It is not the same as a small battery-powered cleaning brush: here you use a drill you already own, with a firmer grip and more turning force, for large surfaces and more stubborn dirt.
A drill brush set in several shapes
The flat disc is for wide surfaces, such as floors, shower trays or the bottom of the bath. The dome adapts to curves and rounded edges, such as the inside of a washbasin or a wheel rim. The pointed cone gets into corners, nooks and grout lines.
You change brushes by loosening the chuck, with no other tools. If you keep one for the bathroom and another for outdoors, you do not mix terrace dirt with shower dirt.
A drill brush for grout, terraces and wheel rims
In the bathroom, the pointed brush goes over the grout between tiles and the edge of the bath, where dirt builds up. Outdoors, the disc cleans terrace tiles, plastic garden furniture and the cold barbecue grill, and the dome follows the shape of wheel rims.
Use them with water and your usual cleaner. The nylon bristles are firm, so on surfaces that scratch, such as acrylic, polished steel or lacquered finishes, test beforehand on a hidden spot.
How to use the drill brushes
Fit the brush
With the drill switched off and the battery removed, push the shank fully into the chuck and tighten it well.
Set up the drill
Choose the normal drilling mode, never hammer mode, and select the low speed if your drill has one.
Wet the surface and add cleaner
Dampen the surface and put the product on it, not on the brush, so it does not splash when you start.
Rest the brush and start slowly
Rest the brush on the surface before pulling the trigger, start slowly and move it without pressing: if you push hard, the bristles splay.
Rinse
Remove the dirt with water or a cloth and repeat on any areas that need it.
Care and maintenance
After use, rinse the brushes with water and let them dry with the bristles facing down. Dry the shank so that it does not rust. Wipe the drill with a barely damp cloth and never wet it or rinse it under the tap. Store the brushes together in their bag or a box, so the bristles keep their shape.
Frequently asked questions
Do these drill brushes fit any drill?
They fit most household drills and drill drivers, corded or cordless, as long as the chuck takes the shank. The type and size of the shank are in the specifications on this page. Also check that your drill lets you choose a low speed and switch off the hammer action.
Can the drill brush be used on tile grout?
Yes. Use the pointed brush, wet the grout, apply your cleaner and let it work for a few minutes. Then move the brush slowly along the line at low speed. On very old grout, the dirt comes off over several passes and the original colour cannot always be recovered.
Do they work as a drill brush for wheel rims?
Yes, especially the dome brush, which follows the curve of the rim, and the pointed one for the gaps between spokes. Use a low speed and a wheel cleaner or soapy water. On lacquered, polished or high-gloss rims, test beforehand on a spot that is out of sight.
Is it safe to use a drill brush to clean the bathroom?
Yes, with precautions. A cordless drill is better; if it is corded, keep the plug and cable away from water. Do not wet the drill, do not use it with wet hands or standing in a bath with water in it, and wear glasses and gloves because the rotation splashes.
Can they scratch surfaces?
The bristles are nylon and are intended for tiles, stoneware, sanitary ware, hard plastic and wheel rims. On acrylic, perspex, polished steel, varnished wood or lacquered finishes, the rotation and pressure can leave marks. Test beforehand in a corner that is out of sight, use a low speed and do not press.
How is it different from a rechargeable electric cleaning brush?
A rechargeable electric brush is small, light and has its own battery, handy for corners and quick cleans. These brushes have no motor: they use your drill, which usually has more turning force and a better grip. They suit large surfaces and stuck-on dirt, and you need to already own a drill.
