Talenia is a 5-in-1 hot air hair styler. It consists of a motor handle and five attachments that click on and off: a nozzle for drying, a flat brush for smoothing, a round brush for volume and two air curling barrels for waves. It is designed for anyone who wants to dry and style their hair with the same appliance, without filling a drawer with different tools.

Five attachments on one handle: a dryer styler with accessories

The handle holds the motor, the buttons and the cord; the attachments simply guide the air. You start by drying with the nozzle, which directs the flow so it does not spread out. When your hair is almost dry, you switch to whichever attachment suits the style of the day. Everything is stored together, and in the bathroom it takes up the space of a hairdryer.

Waves with air: the styler's two curling barrels

The curling barrels have a cylinder with slots that the air comes out of. When you bring the end of a section close, the airflow itself winds it around the cylinder, with no clamps. One turns one way and the other the opposite way, so the waves on both sides of the face come out symmetrical. Because it works with air rather than a very hot barrel, the result is a soft wave more than a tight curl.

A hot air brush for volume or a smooth finish

The round brush is used as at the hairdresser's: put it in at the roots, lift and turn outwards or inwards while the air flows. The flat brush runs straight down the section and leaves a smooth, groomed finish. Both are for finishing the drying, not for straightening very curly hair the way a straightening iron would.

Heat, speed and cool air

The buttons on the handle set the temperature and the strength of the airflow. For drying, a higher speed works best; for shaping with the barrels or brushes, a medium speed and just enough heat. When you finish each section, a burst from the cool-shot button helps the shape hold. The exact levels are listed in the specifications table.

How to use a hot air styler step by step

  1. Dry with the nozzle

Remove excess water with a towel and dry with the nozzle until your hair is almost dry.

  2. Change attachment

Switch the styler off, remove the nozzle and push on the attachment you want until it clicks.

  3. Work in sections

Hold the rest of your hair back with clips and take thin sections for the barrels or wider ones for the brushes.

  4. Shape and set

Let the air work on each section for a few seconds and finish with the cool-shot button before releasing it.

Cleaning and care

  • Unplug it and let it cool before changing attachments when cold, cleaning or storing it.
  • Clean the air inlet filter regularly so dust and hair do not build up.
  • Remove hairs from the brushes and from the barrel slots after use.
  • Wipe the handle with a dry cloth and do not wind the cord tightly around it.

Frequently asked questions

Can the styler be used on wet hair?

With the nozzle, yes: it is for drying from damp, after removing excess water with a towel. The barrels and brushes work better on almost dry hair, because if it is dripping they take a long time and the shape does not hold. Always stay away from the shower, bath and basin while using it.

Does it make curls like a curling tong?

Not exactly. The barrels on this hot air styler work with airflow and at a lower temperature than a metal barrel, so the result is a soft wave or a loose curl. If you want very defined, long-lasting curls, traditional curling tongs usually give a more defined finish.

What are the two barrels on the 5-in-1 dryer brush for?

Each one winds the hair in one direction. You use one on the right side of your head and the other on the left, so the waves open away from the face on both sides and the style looks symmetrical. You can also alternate them at the back for a more natural effect.

Does it work on short hair?

The nozzle and brushes work on any length: drying and adding volume to short hair is very straightforward. The curling barrels need the section to wrap around the cylinder at least once, so they work better from mid-length upwards. On very short hair, the round brush is the attachment you will use most.

How do you change the attachments?

Switch the styler off, press the release button on the handle and pull the attachment off. Bear in mind it may be hot: wait a few seconds or hold it by the base. Then push on the new one until it clicks and check it does not move before switching on again.

Does the hot air styler's filter need cleaning?

Yes. There is a filter at the air inlet that catches dust and hair; if it clogs, the styler blows less strongly and runs hotter. With the styler unplugged and cool, remove it, clean it with a dry brush and put it back. Do this regularly, as the manual indicates.
