Malenis is a portable cordless pressure washer: a pistol with a motor, a pump and a removable battery that sprays water under pressure with no cable and no fixed water supply. It draws water from a bucket or a container through its suction hose, so you can use it in the garage, in the street outside your house, on the balcony or at the campsite. It is for anyone who wants to wash the car, the bike, garden furniture or patio tiles without setting up a mains pressure washer.
A cordless pressure washer: no cable and no tap nearby
The battery slots into the handle and comes out to be charged separately. You need no socket where you work and no extension lead trailing across the garden. Put the end of the suction hose into a bucket of clean water, switch on and squeeze the trigger: the pump draws the water in and pushes it out through the nozzle.
A pressure washer for the car, the bike and garden furniture
Its pressure suits the mud on the underside and the wheels, a bike frame and tyres, plastic patio chairs, plant pots or patio tiles. Before you soap the car, a pass with the jet removes loose grit so the sponge does not drag it across the paint.
On delicate surfaces, such as touched-up paintwork, soft wood, rubber seals or silicone joints, use the fan spray and work from further away.
A multi-pattern nozzle and a hose with a filter
The nozzle turns to switch from a concentrated jet, for stuck-on dirt, to a gentler fan for rinsing wide surfaces. The end of the suction hose carries a filter that holds back grit and leaves so they do not reach the pump; even so, use clean water and do not drain the bucket to the very bottom.
How to use the portable pressure washer
Charge the battery
Charge it fully with its charger and slot it into the handle until it clicks.
Get the water ready
Fill a bucket with clean water, set it on the ground near you and put the filter end of the hose into it.
Choose the spray
Turn the nozzle and always point it at the surface you are going to clean.
Wash area by area
Squeeze the trigger and work a hand's width or more from the surface, from top to bottom.
Finish and drain
Release the trigger, take the battery out and let the water left in the gun and the hose run out.
Care and maintenance
Always take the battery out before cleaning the gun, changing the nozzle or putting it away. Rinse the hose filter when you see grit or debris. Wipe the outside of the gun dry with a cloth and do not leave it in the sun or inside a hot car. Keep the battery somewhere dry and cool and recharge it now and then even when you are not using it. In winter, store everything with no water inside and somewhere free of frost.
Frequently asked questions
Does it have the same pressure as a mains pressure washer?
No. A cordless pressure washer has less pressure and less flow than a household mains model. It is enough for mud, dust and grit on cars, bikes, furniture and tiles, but not for dirt that has been building up for years. The working pressure stated by the manufacturer is listed in the specifications.
Is it a pressure washer that draws water from a bucket?
Yes, that is how it normally works. Put the filter end of the suction hose into a bucket or container of clean water and leave it on the ground near you. Bear in mind that it uses water fairly quickly: for a whole car it is worth having a second full bucket to hand.
How long does the cordless pressure washer battery last?
It depends on the battery and on how long you keep the trigger squeezed. The approximate running time and the charging time are in the specifications. To wash a large car without breaks a second compatible battery may help; ask us beforehand whether one is available.
Is it good as a pressure washer for the car?
Yes, for a normal wash: it removes mud from the underside and the wheels and rinses the bodywork before and after soaping. Keep some distance from the paint, especially on touched-up areas, door seals and stickers. Do not aim the jet at the engine or at electrical connectors.
How should it be stored in winter?
After the last use, drain the gun and the hose well, take the battery out and store everything somewhere dry and free of frost, because water left inside can damage the pump if it freezes. The battery keeps better at room temperature and with some charge left.
What precautions should I take when using it?
Wear eye protection and closed shoes. Never point the jet at people, animals, sockets or electrical appliances. Keep it away from children, do not charge the battery while it is wet and take it out before cleaning the gun or changing the nozzle.
