Read the full description
Revino is a cordless, automatic hair curler. Instead of wrapping the strand around a curling wand yourself, you place it in the slot, press a button and the rotating ceramic barrel draws it in, applies heat and releases it as a curl. It runs on a rechargeable battery and is designed for anyone who wants waves or curls at home without practising the wrist twist of traditional curling tongs.
An automatic hair curler that winds the strand for you
The part that heats up is not exposed: the barrel turns inside a curl chamber. You bring a thin strand close, the motor draws it in and keeps it wound for the time you have chosen. Then you lower the curler and the curl comes out already formed. What depends on you is the thickness of the strand and making sure the hair is dry and free of tangles.
Temperature, time and curl direction to suit you
With the buttons on the handle you choose how much heat the barrel applies, how long it holds the strand and which way it turns. Less heat and less time give a looser wave; more heat and more time, a tighter curl. By changing the direction you can curl towards the face, away from it, or alternate.
A cordless, rechargeable curler for home and travel
With no cord, you can do your hair at whichever mirror has the best light even if there is no socket nearby, and reach behind your head without anything pulling. Once cool, it fits in a travel bag. Battery life and charging time are listed in the specifications table.
Which hair lengths it suits
This kind of curler needs the strand to go around the barrel several times, so it usually works well with mid-length and long hair. On very short hair the strand is too short to wind. On very long or very thick hair, use thinner strands so they go in without bunching up.
How to use an automatic curler step by step
Prepare your hair
Dry it completely and detangle it. If you use a heat protectant, apply it beforehand and let it dry.
Choose the settings
Switch the curler on, select the temperature, time and curl direction, and wait for it to heat up.
Separate a thin strand
Hold the rest back with a clip. The thinner and smoother the strand, the more easily it enters the slot.
Place and press
Set the strand in the slot, a few finger-widths from the roots, press the curl button and let the barrel draw it in.
Release and let it cool
When the time is up, lower the curler to free the curl. Do not comb it until it has cooled.
Cleaning and care
- Switch it off and let it cool completely before cleaning or storing it.
- Remove loose hairs from the slot after each use.
- Wipe the housing with a soft, dry cloth; never wet or immerse it.
- If you will not use it for a while, store it in a dry place with the battery half charged.
Frequently asked questions
Does an automatic hair curler work on short hair?
It depends on the length. The barrel needs the strand to go around it several times, so this kind of curler usually works well from mid-length hair upwards. If the hair is very short, the strand cannot wind and no curl forms. The specifications table gives the recommended hair length for this model.
How is it different from cordless curling tongs?
With curling tongs you wrap the strand around the hot barrel yourself and decide when to let go. Here the motor does it: the barrel draws the hair into a chamber and holds it for the time you have set. It is simpler if you have little practice, in exchange for less freedom to improvise shapes.
Which temperature and time should I choose?
Start with the lowest temperature and time and test on one strand. If the curl comes out too loose or drops straight away, go up one step. Fine, coloured or bleached hair usually needs less heat than thick hair. More time gives a tighter curl; less time, a looser wave.
Can it be used on wet or damp hair?
No. Always use it on hair that is completely dry and detangled. On damp hair, direct heat is harsher and the curl does not set well. As with any electrical appliance, it should not be used near the shower, a full washbasin or other sources of water.
Can I take this portable hair curler in my hand luggage?
It has a built-in lithium battery, and the rules on batteries vary with the airline and the type of luggage. Before you fly, check your airline's conditions. In any case, pack it switched off, cool and inside a pouch so that it cannot turn on by accident.
How long do the curls last?
It depends on your hair type, its thickness and the products you use, so we cannot promise a duration. It helps to work with thin strands, let each curl cool before touching it and avoid brushing straight afterwards. If your hair loses its shape easily, a setting product usually helps.
