Read the full description

Zazano is a handheld steam cleaner: a compact appliance with a small tank that heats tap water and releases it as steam through a nozzle. It is meant for anyone who wants to loosen grease and stuck-on dirt in the kitchen, the bathroom and the corners of the house with less scrubbing and fewer cleaning products.

A steam cleaner for removing kitchen grease

The grease that builds up on the cooker hood, around the hob, on the tiles behind it or on cupboard handles hardens over time. The heat of the steam softens it, and then you just need to wipe it off with a cloth or a brush.

It works with water alone, so you can use it near food or the surfaces where you cook without leaving any product behind. On very old dirt, repeat the pass or combine it with your usual degreaser.

Cleaning grout with steam in the bathroom

With the fine nozzle and the small round brush you can reach the grout between tiles, the base of the taps, the edge of the shower tray and the shower-screen tracks. The steam gets into the gap and loosens the dirt, and the brush lifts it out.

A portable steam cleaner for the whole house

As it is small and you handle it with one hand, you can take it from the kitchen to the bathroom, the terrace or the car. It works well on window tracks, door frames, radiators, hinges or the seat of a plastic chair.

For large flat surfaces, such as glass or a mirror, use the cloth attachment or the squeegee if one is included: that way the steam spreads out and the water does not drip as much.

How to use the handheld steamer

  1. Fill the tank

With the appliance unplugged and cold, open the cap and fill the tank with tap water without going past the mark.

  2. Fit the attachment

Fit the nozzle or brush you are going to use and close the cap firmly.

  3. Plug in and wait

Plug it in and wait until the indicator light shows the steam is ready.

  4. Apply steam and wipe

Aim at the surface, press the trigger in short bursts and straight away wipe with a cloth or the brush to remove the dirt.

  5. Unplug and empty

When you finish, unplug it, let it cool down and empty any water left in the tank.

Care and maintenance

Always empty the tank after use and leave it to dry with the cap open. Wash the brushes with soapy water and replace them when the bristles are misshapen. If the water in your area is very hard, mix tap water with distilled water so limescale does not block the nozzle. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth, never under the tap.

Frequently asked questions

Does the handheld steamer remove kitchen grease?

Yes, it is one of its most common uses. The hot steam softens grease on the hood, tiles and hob, and you then remove it with a cloth or the brush. Thick, old layers may need several passes or a degreaser; do not expect the steam to make it disappear on its own.

Can grout be cleaned with steam?

Yes. Fit the fine nozzle or the small round brush, apply steam along the grout line and scrub with the brush. Then dry with a cloth so the loosened dirt does not settle again. Very aged or stained grout does not always get its original colour back.

What water should go in the portable steam cleaner?

Tap water, without adding products, fragrances or vinegar to the tank. If the water in your area is very hard, mix it with distilled water to reduce limescale in the nozzle. Always fill the tank with the appliance unplugged and cold, and empty it when you finish.

How long does it take to heat up and how long does a tank last?

It takes a few minutes to produce steam and the light tells you when it is ready. As a handheld appliance, the tank is small and lasts for one specific job, such as the hood or the grout on one wall. The approximate times are in the specifications on this page.

Which surfaces should the steamer not be used on?

Avoid unvarnished wood, parquet, leather, cork, delicate fabrics, soft painted finishes and cold glass, which can crack with the heat. Do not use it on sockets or electrical appliances either. If in doubt, test first on a spot that is out of sight.

Can it be used on upholstery or in the car?

It can go over surface marks on water-resistant upholstery and car plastics, using the cloth attachment and from a little distance. Dampen lightly and let it dry thoroughly with good ventilation. Do not use it on screens, leather, fabrics that shrink or areas with electronics.
