Read the full description
Kizania is a split-style wall heater: an electric fan heater shaped like a small split unit, white and elongated, that hangs high on the wall and plugs into an ordinary socket. It is made for anyone who wants an appliance that stays put all year round: heat in the cold months and, in summer, a fan mode that simply moves the air.
Split-style heater: warmth from high on the wall
The warm air comes out along the bottom of the unit and travels down to where you are, instead of staying up by the ceiling. Because it hangs on the wall, it takes up no floor or table space, there is nothing to step around and it stays out of reach of small children and pets.
It is a top-up heater for one room: it takes the chill off the living room, the study or the bedroom while you are in it. It does not replace the heating for a whole home.
A heater with a fan mode for summer
When the warm weather arrives there is no need to take it down or put it away. In fan mode the heating element stays off and the unit moves the air in the room at whatever temperature it already is: a plain breeze from above.
It is worth being clear: this is a fan, not a cooling appliance. It does not lower the temperature of the room or of the air that comes out; what you feel is moving air, just as you would with a pedestal or ceiling fan.
Split-style heater with remote control and LED display
The LED display on the front shows the temperature, so you can see at a glance how it is set without going over to it. With the remote you switch it on, change mode and turn the temperature up or down from the sofa or from bed, which is handy for an appliance that hangs high up.
Split-style heater with a timer and a safety cut-off
The timer lets you programme the switch-off: you set it when you get into bed or sit down to watch a film and the unit turns itself off when the chosen time is up. It also has an overheat cut-off that stops it if the temperature inside rises too far, for example if something is blocking the air outlet.
How to hang a split-style heater and get it running
Choose the spot
Find a dry wall near a socket, with clear space above, below and to the sides of the unit. No curtains or shelves in front of the air outlet.
Hang it on the wall
It hangs on the wall with the bracket supplied; check the type of fixing and the recommended height in the manual before you fit it.
Plug it in
Connect it directly to a wall socket, with no extension leads or multi-plug adaptors, and switch it on with the button on the unit or with the remote.
Choose mode and temperature
Select heat or fan, adjust the temperature you see on the display and, if you wish, set the timer.
Care and maintenance
Before cleaning it, switch it off, unplug it and wait for it to cool down. Wipe the casing with a dry or barely damp cloth and remove the dust from the intake and outlet grilles with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner on low power; built-up dust slows the airflow and can smell when it heats up. Do not use sprays or get it wet. At each change of season, check that the fixing is still firm and that the cable is not pinched or damaged.
Frequently asked questions
Does the heater's fan mode cool the room in summer?
No. The unit has a heating element and a fan, nothing else. In fan mode the element switches off and the air in the room is moved at the temperature it already has: you feel a breeze from above, but the temperature does not drop. It has no compressor, gas or outdoor unit, so it is not a cooling appliance.
How do you hang a split-style heater on the wall?
It hangs on the wall with the bracket supplied. Before fitting it, check in the manual the type of fixing, the recommended height and the clearances it needs around it. Choose a dry, solid wall near a socket, and make sure nothing is left in front of or below the air outlet.
Is this split-style heater suitable for the bathroom?
No. This model has no confirmed protection rating against water, so it is not suitable for bathrooms, utility rooms or other damp rooms or places with splashes. Fit it in dry rooms, such as the living room, the bedroom or the study, and do not hang towels or clothes over it to dry them.
Does it need special electrical installation?
No. It has a cable and plugs into an ordinary household socket. Connect it directly to a wall socket, with no extension leads or multi-plug adaptors, and avoid sharing the same socket with other high-power appliances while it is heating. If the wiring in your home is old or the breaker trips, ask an electrician.
How do you use a split-style heater with a timer?
You choose a length of time and, when it is up, the unit switches itself off. It is practical if you turn it on at bedtime or while watching television and would rather not have to remember it. The maximum time this model allows is in the specifications table. Do not treat it as a reason to leave it on in an empty home.
What does the remote control on a split-style heater do?
With the remote you switch the unit on and off, change between heat and fan, adjust the temperature and set the timer without getting up. Point it at the front of the unit, with no furniture or doors in between. Keep it in the same place every time and, if one day it does not respond, change the batteries before assuming a fault.
