Noriso is a portable tyre inflator that runs on a battery: it needs neither the car's cigarette lighter nor a wall socket. It fits in the glovebox or a backpack; you set the pressure on the display, screw the connector onto the valve and let it work until it stops by itself. It is for anyone who likes to check their tyres calmly at home or in the garage, and for families with bikes, balls and lilos that are always a little soft.

A portable car air compressor, with no cable or socket

Because it does not rely on a cable, there is no need to start the engine or stretch anything from the dashboard to the rear wheel. You walk from one tyre to the next with the device in your hand. That also makes it handy in a shared garage, on a country track or in a beach car park, where there is no power point nearby.

Digital display and a compressor with auto stop

The display shows the current pressure as soon as you connect it, and the buttons let you choose the pressure you want to reach and your preferred unit. When you press start, the inflator works until it reaches that figure and then stops. You do not have to watch a needle or guess when to stop, although it is best to stay next to it while it runs.

LED light for checking tyres at night

A light on the front shines on the valve and the cap, which always seem to hide when the light is poor. It is useful in a dark garage, when you get back late from a trip or on a quiet roadside. It switches on and off with its own button, without running the inflator.

An inflator for bike tyres, balls and inflatables

As well as the connector for car and motorbike valves, it comes with adapters for bikes with slim valves, a needle for balls and a cone nozzle for lilos and rubber rings. With the same device you can get the Sunday bike ride, the football and the pool inflatables ready.

How to use the tyre inflator

  1. Look up the correct pressure

Find the pressure your vehicle's manufacturer recommends on the door frame, the fuel flap or in the handbook.

  2. Connect the nozzle

Remove the valve cap and screw on the connector until the display shows the current pressure.

  3. Set the target pressure

Use the buttons to choose the figure you want to reach and press start.

  4. Wait for it to stop

Stay next to it while it inflates. When it reaches the pressure you set, it stops by itself.

  5. Check and close

Unscrew the connector, put the valve cap back on and double-check the pressure with a reliable gauge.

Charging and caring for the cordless compressor

Charge it fully before you put it in the car and give it a charge every few months even if you do not use it, so it is ready on the day you need it. Store it in its place, away from direct sun on the dashboard, and wipe the connector and adapters with a dry cloth so no sand gets into the valve.

Frequently asked questions

Does the battery of this portable car air compressor last for all four tyres?

The battery capacity and inflation times are listed in the specifications table. For topping up a car that has lost a little air it is usually enough. If a tyre is very low it will take longer and use more battery; in that case, let it rest between tyres and recharge it afterwards.

What pressure should I inflate my car tyres to?

To the pressure your vehicle's manufacturer gives, usually on a label on the driver's door frame, inside the fuel flap or in the handbook. It changes with the load and the tyre size. Measure it with cold tyres and always double-check it with a reliable gauge.

Does it work as a bike tyre inflator and for balls?

Yes. The main connector fits car, motorbike and many bike valves; for the slim valves on road bikes there is an adapter. The needle is for balls and the cone nozzle for lilos and rubber rings. With large low-pressure inflatables the auto stop may not kick in, so keep an eye on them yourself.

Is it normal for the rechargeable cordless compressor to get warm?

Yes, compressing air produces heat, especially at the connector and near the motor. If it feels hot to the touch, stop it and let it rest for a few minutes before carrying on. Do not cover it while it runs, do not leave it in the sun, and unscrew the connector carefully when you finish.

Can it repair a puncture or jump-start the car?

No. It is an inflator: it puts back the air a tyre loses over time. It does not seal punctures, so if a tyre keeps going flat, have it checked. Nor is it a jump starter, and it cannot start a car with a flat battery.

How is it charged, and how long does it keep its charge in the car?

It charges with the USB cable supplied, from a phone charger, a computer or the car's USB socket. Batteries lose charge slowly even when not in use, so it is a good idea to recharge it every few months. In summer, keep it in the boot or at home rather than on the dashboard.
