Read the full description
Taleneo is a compact wall-mounted heater: a small electric fan heater, white and elongated, that hangs high on the wall and plugs into an ordinary socket. It is made to warm one small room while you are using it: the bedroom before you go to bed, the study during the afternoon or the corner of your home where you work.
A wall-mounted heater for a bedroom, study or small home office
In a small room every bit of space counts. On the wall, it takes up no floor by the bed and no room on the desk, there is no cable across the walkway and nobody knocks it over on the way past. The warm air comes out at the bottom and travels down to where you are sitting or lying.
It is a top-up appliance for a small, closed space. In a large living room or an open-plan area it falls short.
Wall-mounted heater with a programmable timer
The timer lets you decide how long it stays on. You set it when you get into bed or sit down to study and it switches itself off when the time is up, without you having to get up or watch the clock.
The LED display shows the temperature, and with the remote control you change the settings without leaving your chair or your bed.
Several fan speeds and a gentler night mode
The fan has several speeds: the high ones spread the heat faster when you walk into a cold room and the low ones keep things warm with less of a draught. Night mode lowers the fan speed so that the sound is less of a bother while you sleep or work.
Like any fan heater, it can be heard: it does not run without sound. And if you choose the no-heat fan mode, it moves air at room temperature, without warming it or making it colder.
How to fit and use the compact wall-mounted heater
Choose the wall
Pick a dry wall near a socket, with no curtains, shelves or tall furniture in front of or below the air outlet.
Fix it following the manual
Fit it high up with the fixing system described in the manual and check that it is firm before plugging it in.
Plug it in and switch it on
Connect it directly to the wall socket, not to a multi-plug adaptor, and switch it on at the unit or with the remote.
Choose the speed
Pick the fan speed that suits you, or night mode if you are going to sleep or need to concentrate.
Set the switch-off time
Set the time on the timer so that it turns itself off.
Care and maintenance
Unplug it and let it go cold before touching it. Clean the casing with a dry or barely damp cloth and remove the dust from the grilles with a soft brush or the vacuum cleaner, especially at the start of the cold season: built-up dust reduces the airflow and can smell when it heats up. Do not get it wet or use spray products. If the remote stops responding, change the batteries. When you are not going to use it for months, leave it unplugged.
Frequently asked questions
What size of room is a compact wall-mounted heater for?
It is made for one small, closed room, such as a bedroom, a study or a home office, and for use while you are in it. In a large living room, an open-plan space or a poorly insulated home it falls short. Close the door and lower the blind so that the heat does not escape so quickly.
Is it a quiet heater for the bedroom?
It has a fan, so you can hear it: no fan heater runs without sound. It has several speeds and a night mode that turns the fan more slowly so that the sound is less of a bother. The declared noise level is in the specifications table. If you are a light sleeper, set it to switch off shortly after you go to bed.
How does a wall-mounted heater with a timer work?
You use the remote to choose how long you want it to stay on and, when the time is up, it switches itself off. It is useful for warming the bedroom while you fall asleep or the office during a video call without having to remember to turn it off. The maximum time you can set is given in the specifications table and in the manual.
Can an electric wall-mounted heater go in the bathroom?
No. This model has no confirmed protection rating against water, so it is not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms or other damp rooms. Use it in dry rooms and do not use it to dry towels or clothes: nothing should cover the unit or hang over the air outlet.
Does fitting the heater in a small home office involve building work?
No building work or electrical installation is needed: it has a cable and plugs into an ordinary household socket. It does have to be fixed to the wall. Check in the manual which fixing system it uses and what height is recommended, and choose a clear, dry stretch of wall close to a socket, with no extension leads.
Does the no-heat fan mode bring the temperature down in summer?
No. The no-heat fan mode switches off the heating element and moves the air in the room at the temperature it already has. You will feel a slight draught, as with any small fan, but the temperature does not drop. It is a heater: it has no compressor or gas, and it is not made to make a room colder.
